LECTURE: “Vital pulp therapy and the possibility to maintain pulp vitality in teeth with deeo caries.”
He obtained a diploma in general medicine from the University of “La Sapienza” in Rome in 1982 and a dental doctor (DDS) from the same university in 1985. Since then, he has had a private dental practice limited to endodontics. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Ricucci was a professor of cardiology at the University of Magna Graecia in Catanzaro, Italy, from 2002 to 2003. In the years 1999-2005 he was a member of the Research Committee of the European Endodontic Society. Dr. Ricucci’s main research interests include the response of pulpal and apical tissues to caries and therapeutic procedures, biofilms in endodontic infections, the etiology of RTC treatment failure, and pulp regeneration/revascularization. He has been running his own histology laboratory since 1998 and has acquired significant skills in the preparation of hard tissues for light microscopy.
Dr. Ricucci has published 116 articles and lectured nationally and internationally. He is the author of the textbook and atlas “Patologia e Clinica Endodontica”, the textbook and atlas “Endodontology. An integrated biological and clinical view”, also translated into Chinese, Russian and Japanese. He is the author or co-author of 22 book chapters.
He received the 2017 Grossman International Award from the French Society of Endodontists and the 2023 Louis I. Grossman Award from the American Association of Endodontists.
