LECTURE: The silent revolution in root canal shaping: How modern concepts and technology changed our approach.
Dr Francesca Cerutti is a highly regarded Italian dentist specializing primarily in endodontics, endodontic microsurgery, and restorative dentistry. In 2007, she graduated with honors in Dentistry from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Brescia. In 2013, she obtained a PhD in Materials for Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Brescia. She subsequently expanded her qualifications, obtaining a Master’s degree in Aesthetic Medicine in 2016 and, with honors, a Master’s degree in Endodontics and Endodontic Microsurgery in 2022. Throughout her career, she has continuously pursued advanced postgraduate training in endodontics, microsurgery, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and modern root canal treatment techniques. She runs a private practice, focusing primarily on endodontics and restorative dentistry, while also collaborating with renowned dental centers in northern Italy. Since 2010, she has collaborated with Studio Dr Fabio Gorni in Milan, and since 2023 she has also been associated with Studio Associato Gualini Maironi in Lovere and Breno. Her academic career includes positions at the University of Brescia and the University of Milan, where she worked as a tutor and Visiting Professor in restorative and aesthetic dentistry. She currently serves as a tutor and lecturer in the Master’s Program in Endodontics and Endodontic Microsurgery at the University of Brescia and as a lecturer in postgraduate endodontic programs at the Universities of Siena and Catania. She is an active member of leading Italian and European scientific societies in endodontics and restorative dentistry, including the Italian Society of Endodontics, the Italian Society of Conservative Dentistry, and the European Society of Endodontology. She is also a Diamond Member of Style Italiano Endodontics and collaborates as an expert and key opinion leader with companies involved in modern endodontic dentistry. Dr Cerutti is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications on topics including endodontics, dental materials, retreatment, root canal obturation, and endodontic-sinus communications. She has also contributed to several specialist books, including “Testo Atlante di Anatomia Endodontica,” “Ritrattamenti,” and “Bioceramics in Endodontics.” Her scientific achievements include presentations at international IADR meetings as well as dental congresses across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. For many years, she has delivered lectures, workshops, and hands-on courses on topics including diagnosis, anesthesia, primary and retreatment procedures, irrigation, root canal shaping, and endodontic microsurgery. In recent years, she has regularly participated as a lecturer and trainer at international congresses and specialist courses, sharing her expertise in predictable and minimally invasive endodontic treatment. She also serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals, contributes to “Dentista Moderno,” and is co-founder of the endodontic podcast “Endocast.” Her scientific and professional achievements include first prizes at scientific events in 2007 and 2008, as well as the Premio Lavagnoli in 2023. Her professional profile combines extensive clinical experience, academic and scientific activity, and significant international educational work, with a particular focus on modern, predictable, and evidence-based endodontics.
