On the 7th of December 2013, Saturday, Prof. Syngcuk Kim will conduct and comment molar root resection. The surgery will be transmitted live for the participants of the Symposium. This surgery is a great opportunity to observe and learn from one of the most acknowledged endodontists in the world.

Prof. Gianluca Gambarini
Doctor Gianluca Gambarini is a professor of endodontics and restorative dentistry at Sapienza University Hospital in Rome, Italy. He is also involved with international exchange programs for dental students and professors and is Vice Dean of the Dental Hygiene School at Sapienza. He is often invited as a key-speaker on international congresses.
Dr Michał Jóźwiak
Dr. Jóźwiak graduated from The Medical University of Gdańsk, where he finished his specialty training in dental surgery. Since 1987 he has run his own private practice in Iława. He has authored many articles in the field of endodontics and dental surgery. He is one of the creators of endodontic website www.endodoncja.pl. He also runs discussion list for dentists (www.stomatolog.com.pl).
Dr n. med. Witold Jurczyński
In 1992 completed medical studies at Jagiellonian University, Collegium Medicum. Second degree specialist in periodontology since 1999. The doctor of medical studies since 2003. A member of American Academy of Periodontology. Since 1993 organizes practical courses as well as lectures in the field of laserotherapy, parodontium diseases treatment and periodontics microsurgery.
Dr Tomasz Machan
Dr. Machan graduated in Dentistry at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, Italy. In 1998 he took a course in "Microscope Training in Endodontics" at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Entodontics prof. Syungcuk Kim.
Prof. Marga Ree
Marga Ree, from the Netherlands. Marga Ree obtained her degree in dentistry from the University of Amsterdam in 1979. For the next five years she was a part-time staff member of the department of Cardiology Endodontology Pedodontology, as well as being a clinical instructor in the central dental clinic of the University of Amsterdam. In 2001, She completed a postgraduate training programme in endodontics with a Master of Science degree. Since that time she has lectured widely and taught hands-on courses throughout the Netherlands and abroad. She is the primary author of several articles published in National and International journals and has contributed to several books on endodontics and general dentistry. Since 1980 she has had a private practice in Purmerend, which for the past nine years has been dedicated to endodontics.
Dr Jerzy Zbożeń
Dr. Jerzy Zbożeń graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in 1980. Few years later he obtained a specialization in Oral Surgery. Interests: endodontics, microsurgery, implantology. Dr Zbozen runs his own multi-seat dental and surgical practice in Kielce. In 1993 he founded Profident (www.profident.pl), a company which specialises in implementing new technological solutions in the fields of endodontics, microsurgery and implantogy on the Polsih market. Dr Zbozen is the administrator and co-author of a specialised internet portal for Endodontists www.endodoncja.pl.
Prof. Alan M. Atlas
Prof. Alan M. Atlas received his D.M.D degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and currently serves there as Clinical Professor, Co-Director of Comprehensive Care Clinics, Director of Implant Dentistry and a Primary Care Unit Group Leader in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences. In addition, he is actively involved in the development and integration of clinical research studies for implants, CAD-CAM ceramics and dental materials at Penn
Prof. Dana T. Graves
Dr Graves is a Professor, Department of Periodontics; Associate Dean for Translational Research; and Interim Director, Doctor of Science in Dentistry Program at Penn Dental Medicine. His key research interests are in the areas of inflammation and diabetes as they relate to periodontal disease and the loss and repair of connective tissue and bone.
Prof. Syngcuk Kim
He earned his dental degree and certificate in Endodontics from the School of Dental and Oral Surgery at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Kim also received his Ph.D. degree in circulatory physiology from the Department of Physiology at the Medical School, Columbia University. In 2002 he received an Honorary Medical Doctor degree from the University of Graz, Austria
Prof. Denis Kinane
A native of Scotland, Dr. Kinane earned his bachelor of dental surgery in 1980 and his PhD in microbiology in 1983, both from the University of Edinburgh. He is a member of the Faculties of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and holds specialist registration in the UK in periodontics and restorative dentistry.
Prof. Sam Kratchman
Prof. Sam Kratchman was born and raised in New York. He received a B.S. in Biology and a D.M.D. both from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. Sam then entered the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a certificate of endodontics, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Endodontics and the Assistant Director of Graduate Endodontics, in charge of the microsurgical portion of the program. Prof. Kratchman has authored several articles and chapters on endodontics and intentional replantation for the Microsurgery in Endodontics textbook, and the Dental Clinics of North America. He also developed a patented instrument called the S Kondenser for the obturation of root canals. Both Main Line Today and Doctor of Dentistry magazines honored Dr Kratchman as the cover story for their "Best of " issues. Prof. Kratchman lectures on several topics of endodontics throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, and Asia. He also maintains two private practices, limited to endodontics, in Exton and West Chester Pennsylvania.
Prof. Christof Pertl
Christof Pertl, DMD, MD is trained both in Endodontics and Oral Surgery. He is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Graz and at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Also, he has a teaching affiliation at the Dental School in Vienna and he is a lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. With several partner he is in private practise in Graz, Austria. A foremost teacher with a huge clinical experience, he is a highly respected speaker on international conferences.
Prof. Panagiota Stathopoulou
Dr Yota Stathopoulou is a periodontist and an Assistant Professor and Director of Predoctoral Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Her research interests focus on the interaction of periodontal pathogens with the innate immune system and the treatment of peri-implantitis. Dr Stathopoulou is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and specializes in the treatment of periodontal disease, esthetic cases, soft tissue grafting and implants.
