LECTURE: “Endodontic microsurgery.”
Frank C. Setzer received his Dentist and Doctor of Dentistry degrees from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany in 1995 and 1998. He then earned his Endodontic Specialist Certification, Master’s Degree in Oral Biology, and DMD from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, USA, in 2006, 2008, and 2010. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, while also serving as pre-graduate director in endodontics. His research interests include clinical detection methods, prognosis and assessment of periapical pathology, in particular root apical inflammation, using CBCT imaging and artificial intelligence, as well as endodontic microsurgery. Dr. Setzer is an Occital Fellow (OKU), a Fellow of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). Additionally, he is an associate editor of the Journal of Endodontics and the European Endodontic Journal, serves on the editorial boards of several other journals, and lectures at national and international conferences.
