Endodontic’s Enthusiasts Meeting Pulp Fiction 8,
7th – 10th of December 2006.
Another scientific-training conference, Pulp Fiction 8, was held in Jachranka near Warsaw.
How to perform endodontic retreatment? How to widen blocked root canals? Treating gangrene and post-inflammatory complications on periodontal membrane during one visit. How to prepare narrow and curved root canals? How to close perforation and remove a broken tool? How to hermetically seal root canal system, how to solve difficult situations? How to perform endodontic microsurgery to achieve best results? What procedure is the most effective? All these questions were answered during the eighth endodontic meeting Pulp Fiction.
Lectures were conducted by the most prominent specialists from Poland and from other countries, like Prof. Syngcuk Kim, Dr. Gilberto Debelian, Dr. Frederic Barnett and Dr. Samuel Kratchman. Attendants could also participate in special practical courses. The conference was overseen by Scientific Council, including Prof. Danuta Piątowska, Prof. Halina Pawlicka and Prof. Janina Stopa.
The Pulp Fiction meeting topics answered many therapeutic difficulties at a dental practice. Without a doubt the participants were able to confront their knowledge with the experience of world famous specialists. Rich scientific programme satisfied the participants and prepared accompanying social events made the visit more attractive.
Prof. Gilberto Debelian
Dr. Debelian received his DMD degree from the University of Săo Paulo, Brazil, in 1987. He completed his specialisation in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, in 1991. He completed his PhD studies at the University of Oslo in 1997. He is an adjunct visiting professor in the postgraduate programmes in Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Debelian maintains a private specialist endodontics practice in Bekkestua, Norway.
Dr Tomasz Dzieniakowski
In 1977 - 2002 he was a scientific researcher and assistant professor in iagnostics and propaedeutics Department, at Łódź Dental School. In his academic research he has been studying ergonomics in dentistry. Currently, he promotes human centered ergonomics in dentistry as a co-founder and member of GEPEC (Global Engineering, Promotion and Education Collaborative).
Dr Taras Gorodetsky
Dr Taras Gorodetsky has graduated Lviv National Medical University with specialty in Dental surgery. His professional interests include endodontics, microsurgery and implant treatment. He runs private dental and surgical practice in Lviv. He runs a company that intorduces technical innovations in the field of endodontics and microsurgery. He conducts practical courses for dentists, including endodontics and microsurgery. He is a Vice-president of Ukrainian Endodontic Society.
Prof. Syngcuk Kim
He earned his dental degree and certificate in Endodontics from the School of Dental and Oral Surgery at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Kim also received his Ph.D. degree in circulatory physiology from the Department of Physiology at the Medical School, Columbia University. In 2002 he received an Honorary Medical Doctor degree from the University of Graz, Austria
Prof. Sam Kratchman
Prof. Sam Kratchman was born and raised in New York. He received a B.S. in Biology and a D.M.D. both from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. Sam then entered the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a certificate of endodontics, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Endodontics and the Assistant Director of Graduate Endodontics, in charge of the microsurgical portion of the program. Prof. Kratchman has authored several articles and chapters on endodontics and intentional replantation for the Microsurgery in Endodontics textbook, and the Dental Clinics of North America. He also developed a patented instrument called the S Kondenser for the obturation of root canals. Both Main Line Today and Doctor of Dentistry magazines honored Dr Kratchman as the cover story for their "Best of " issues. Prof. Kratchman lectures on several topics of endodontics throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, and Asia. He also maintains two private practices, limited to endodontics, in Exton and West Chester Pennsylvania.
Enrique Merino
Dr. Enrique Merino received his MD in 1980 from Santander University and his DDS in 1982 form Oviedo University in Spain. Member of the editorial board of ENDO. Founder and Director of the European Institute of Microscopic Odontology (INEOM). Member of the Spanish, American and Italian Endodontic Society, Spanish Society of Periodontology, Implantology and Academy of Osseointegration. Practice limited to Endodontics, Periodontics and Implantology in Leon, Spain.p>
Dr Krystian Owczarczak
For many years he had been a lecturer at the Medical University of Silesia. He has authored many scientific publications. Currently, he runs a private practice Pro-Esthetica specializing in esthetic dentistry. He also conducts practical courses on esthetic dental prosthetics.
Dr Jerzy Zbożeń
Dr. Jerzy Zbożeń graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in 1980. Few years later he obtained a specialization in Oral Surgery. Interests: endodontics, microsurgery, implantology. Dr Zbozen runs his own multi-seat dental and surgical practice in Kielce. In 1993 he founded Profident (www.profident.pl), a company which specialises in implementing new technological solutions in the fields of endodontics, microsurgery and implantogy on the Polsih market. Dr Zbozen is the administrator and co-author of a specialised internet portal for Endodontists www.endodoncja.pl.
