International Congress Pulp Fiction Global Endo – EFAM Endodontic’s Enthusiasts Meeting on 8th – 11th of December 2011. The Special Edition of annual Endodontics’ Enthusiasts Meeting – Pulp Fiction in 2011.
This year the International Congress Pulp Fiction presented a unique event, a joint Meeting of the Penn Global Endo Symposium, supported by The University of Pennsylvania and the EFAM Symposium supported by the European Federation Association Microdentistry in cooperation with the The Polish Endodontic Society.
Topics of this year’s edition of Pulp Fiction has focused on Endodontics and Micro-Dentistry, clearing details and discussing controversial aspects on different subject matters.
The Congress was held from 8th to 11th December 2011 in “The Best Western Premier” Hotel in Cracow. Variety of interesting lectures and practical workshops has surely satisfied all the Participants and the accompanying social events has made the stay in Cracow even more attractive.

Dr Frederic Barnett

Dr. Barnett received his DMD degree in 1978 and his Certificate in Endodontics in 1981, both from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He received his Board Certification in Endodontics in 1986, has served as the Director of Postdoctoral Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr Marco Bonelli

Adjunct Professor, University of Genoa, Chair Professor: Paolo Pera. Active member S.I.E. (Italian Society of Endodontics). Advanced Implant Surgical Training Program at the School of Dental Medicine in Buffalo, New York.

Prof. Giuseppe Cantatore

Professor Giuseppe Cantatore graduated in Medicine in 1980 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". In 1983 he specialized in Dentistry at the same University. Since 2000 he is Associate Professor of Endodontics at the University of Verona, Italy.

Prof. Arnaldo Castellucci

Prof. Castellucci graduated in Medicine at the University of Florence in 1973 and he specialized in Dentistry at the same University in 1977. 
From 1978 to 1980 he attended the Continuing Education Courses on Endodontics at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry and in 1980 he spent four months in the Endodontic Department of Prof. Herbert Schilder. Since then, he has a limited practice on Endodontics. Active Member of the Italian Endodontic Society S.I.E. since 1981, in 1982 he was elected in the Board of Directors of the Society where he worked as Scientific Advisor, Secretary Treasurer, Vice President and lately as President in 1993-95. Active Member of the European Society of Endodontology E.S.E., he was the Secretary in 1981-83.
He is Active Member of the American Association of Endodontists A.A.E. since 1985. He is Active Member of the Italian Society of Restorative Dentistry S.I.D.O.C. since 1992. He has been the President of the International Federation of Endodontic Associations I.F.E.A. in 1990-92. From 1983 to 2000 he has been Professor of Endodontics at the University of Siena Dental School and from 2001 to 2011 he has been Professor of Endodontics at the University of Florence Dental School. He translated into Italian the text "Clinical and Surgical Endodontics. Concepts in Practice", by Frank, Glick, Simon and Abou-Rass. He has been the Editor of "The Endodontic Informer", and of "The Italian Journal of Endodontics". Is the Editor in Chief of "Endo Tribune". 
He is also the Founder and President of the "Warm Gutta-Percha Study Club". He published articles on Endodontics in the most prestigious Endodontic Journals. He is the author of the text "Endodonzia", which now is available in the English language in three volumes, distributed by the Editor Martina, Bologna. 
 He is Founder and President of the Micro-Endodontic Training Center in Florence, where he teaches and gives hands-on courses on nonsurgical and surgical Endodontics and where he has trained several thousand dentists microscope-assisted endodontic techniques. 
International lecturer, he gave presentations at National and International Congresses in Argentina, Brasil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Korea, India, Israel, Ireland, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Peru, Poland, Syria, Spain, Taiwan, Rumania, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, United States, Venezuela.

Dr Noah Chivian

Dr. Chivian is an attending in Endodontics in the Department of Dentistry at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Endodontics at both the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and the New Jersey Dental School (UMDNJ).

Dr Lorenzo Daniele

Dr. Lorenzo Daniele completed his academic and university studies in L'Aquila where he became a Doctor in Dental Surgery cum laude in 1991. He is instructor in theoretic-practical workshops including "live-surgery" through real-time audio-video shooting closed circuit broadcasted in the dental practice where he operates. He is speaker in National conventions on subject matters concerning implantology, surgery, periodontics and prosthesis. He is speaker in ANDI (National Association of Italian Dentists) accredited and qualified events.

Prof. Gilberto Debelian

Dr. Debelian received his DMD degree from the University of Săo Paulo, Brazil, in 1987. He completed his specialisation in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, in 1991. He completed his PhD studies at the University of Oslo in 1997. He is an adjunct visiting professor in the postgraduate programmes in Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Debelian maintains a private specialist endodontics practice in Bekkestua, Norway.

Dr Spyros Floratos

Dr Floratos received his DMD degree from the University of Thessaloniki Dental School, Greece in 2001. He completed his Graduate Program in Endodontics and Endodontic Microsurgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine,USA in 2009.

Dr Tomasz Machan

Dr. Machan graduated in Dentistry at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, Italy. In 1998 he took a course in "Microscope Training in Endodontics" at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Entodontics prof. Syungcuk Kim.

Prof. Syngcuk Kim

He earned his dental degree and certificate in Endodontics from the School of Dental and Oral Surgery at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Kim also received his Ph.D. degree in circulatory physiology from the Department of Physiology at the Medical School, Columbia University. In 2002 he received an Honorary Medical Doctor degree from the University of Graz, Austria

Prof. Denis Kinane

A native of Scotland, Dr. Kinane earned his bachelor of dental surgery in 1980 and his PhD in microbiology in 1983, both from the University of Edinburgh. He is a member of the Faculties of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and holds specialist registration in the UK in periodontics and restorative dentistry.

Dr Meetu Ralli Kohli

Dr. Meetu Ralli Kohli is Assistant Postgraduate Program Director at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, Endodontic department. She helps coordinate postgraduate and undergraduate endodontic clinical and academic courses.

Prof. Sam Kratchman

Prof. Sam Kratchman was born and raised in New York. He received a B.S. in Biology and a D.M.D. both from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. Sam then entered the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a certificate of endodontics, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Endodontics and the Assistant Director of Graduate Endodontics, in charge of the microsurgical portion of the program. Prof. Kratchman has authored several articles and chapters on endodontics and intentional replantation for the Microsurgery in Endodontics textbook, and the Dental Clinics of North America. He also developed a patented instrument called the S Kondenser for the obturation of root canals. Both Main Line Today and Doctor of Dentistry magazines honored Dr Kratchman as the cover story for their "Best of " issues. Prof. Kratchman lectures on several topics of endodontics throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, and Asia. He also maintains two private practices, limited to endodontics, in Exton and West Chester Pennsylvania.

Dr Francesco Maggiore

Dr Francesco Maggiore graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, School of Dentistry. In 1999 he completed his Postgraduate Program in Endodontics and Endodontic Microsurgery obtaining his C.A.G.S. in Endodontics (Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study) at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Dr Augusto Malentacca

Dr. Augusto Malentacca received his degree in Medicine in 1976 and specialized in Dentistry in 1979. He has been working in his own office in Rome since 1980 focusing on restorative and endodontic dentistry but also dedicating his time to teaching, holding private courses in his office.

Dr Julio Morán

Dr. Julio Morán is the founder and current president of the Spanish Association of Microscopic Dentistry (AEOM) as well as one of the founders of the European Federation Associations Microdentistry (EFAM). He has been responsible for organizing international symposia and is a regular contributor at international conferences speaking in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Prof. Purificación Varela-Patino

Prof. Purificación Varela-Patino graduated in Medicine in 1975 and specialized in Dentistry in 1985. She received her PhD degree in Medicine from the University of Santiago, Spain. Since 1994 she is a full time Associate Professor of Oral Patology and Dental Therapeutics.

Dr Gabriele Edoardo Pecora

Dr Gabriele Pecora is an E.N.T. Specialist. He is an active Member of the "Italian Endodontic Society" (S.I.E.) and Founder and Past-President of the "Italian Academy Microscopic Dentistry" (A.I.O.M.). Dr Pecora is allso a Founder Member and Past-President of the "European Federation Associations Microdentistry" (E.F.A.M.). He is a Professor of Implantology at the University of Guarulhos, Brasil.

Prof. Christof Pertl

Christof Pertl, DMD, MD is trained both in Endodontics and Oral Surgery. He is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Graz and at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Also, he has a teaching affiliation at the Dental School in Vienna and he is a lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. With several partner he is in private practise in Graz, Austria. A foremost teacher with a huge clinical experience, he is a highly respected speaker on international conferences.

Dr Martin Trope

Dr. Trope's major research interests include dental trauma, clinical outcomes, and new diagnostic tests for pulpal and periapical disease. Recently he has also been involved in material development for root canal filling.

Dr Helmut Walsch

Dr Walsch graduated from the Dental School of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany, in 1994, where he also received his doctoral degree in 1996. He earned a Master of Science in Endodontisc/Oral Biology degree in 2001 at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr Walsch is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics since 2006.

Dr Jerzy Zbożeń

Dr. Jerzy Zbożeń graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in 1980. Few years later he obtained a specialization in Oral Surgery. Interests: endodontics, microsurgery, implantology. Dr Zbozen runs his own multi-seat dental and surgical practice in Kielce. In 1993 he founded Profident (www.profident.pl), a company which specialises in implementing new technological solutions in the fields of endodontics, microsurgery and implantogy on the Polsih market. Dr Zbozen is the administrator and co-author of a specialised internet portal for Endodontists www.endodoncja.pl.
